Our experience in Beijing 798 Art Festival “New Gen Exhibition”
Our design has been chosen to participant in the “New Gen” design fair!!
We are very excited about being selected for this amazing opportunity! The judge Daniel Ding, who chose our project loved it even though we were a last-minute submission after all the other projects had already been selected. After seeing what we were up to, he not only told us that we would have a place at the fair, but that he’d like two FRUITWALL for his own home!
The fair will take place in Beijing from 28 September through 3 October 201
About the 798 Art district
798 Art District is located in the Dashanzi area, to the northeast of central Beijing. It is the site of state-owned factories including Factory 798, which originally produced electronics.
Beginning in 2002, artists and cultural organizations began to divide, rent out, and re-make the factory spaces, gradually developing them into galleries, art centers, artists’ studios, design companies, restaurants, and bars.
It became a “Soho-esque” area of international character, replete with “loft living,” attracting attention from all around.
Bringing together contemporary art, architecture, and culture with a historically interesting location and an urban lifestyle, “798″ has evolved into a cultural concept, of interest to experts and normal folk alike, influential on our concepts of both urban culture and living space.
798 stands for much more than a three digit number: in Beijing these numbers symbolize the country’s cutting edge art movement led by the Chinese vanguard, unchained artistic personalities with alternative life goals. The largest, most influential art district in China – the 798 – hosts world-class international and Chinese exhibitions in the midst of former weapons factories.
The number of visitors to the 798 Art District reached as high as 75 million

Nuestro diseño ha sido elegido para participar en la “New Gen” dentro de la semana del diseño de Beijing!!
Estamos muy emocionados por haber sido seleccionado para esta increíble oportunidad! El comisario de la exposición, Daniel Ding, eligió nuestro proyecto y le encantó, después de conocer FRUITWALL nos dijo que lo quería en la exposición y que también lo quería en su propia casa!
La feria se llevará a cabo en Beijing del 28 de septiembre al 3 de octubre 2013.
Sobre el 798 Distrito del Arte.
798 Art District se encuentra en la zona Dashanzi, al noreste del centro de Pekín. Es el sitio de las fábricas estatales, incluyendo Factory 798, que produjo originalmente electrónica. Todo esto ya se desmonto.
A partir de 2002, artistas y organizaciones culturales comenzaron a dividir y alquilar los espacios de la fábrica, convirtíendose gradualmente en galerías, centros de arte, estudios de artistas, empresas de diseño, restaurantes y bares.
Se convirtió en una zona de carácter internacional, repleta de “loft”, llamando la atención de todos en todo.
Al reunir el arte contemporáneo, la arquitectura y la cultura, con una ubicación de interés histórico y un estilo de vida urbano, “798” se ha convertido en un concepto cultural, de interés para expertos y gente normal por igual, influyente en nuestros conceptos tanto de la cultura urbana como del espacio vital.
798 para muchos es más que un número de tres dígitos: en Beijing estos números simbolizan la vanguardia del movimiento de arte del país, dirigida por la vanguardia china, personalidades artísticas con objetivos de vida alternativos.
El distrito más influyente y más grande, sobre arte en China –en el 798 – se encuentran exposiciones internacionales y chinas.
El número de visitantes a la 798 Art District alcanzó los 75 millones

We have great news to share with all of you: Our design has been chosen to participant in the “New Gen” Design Exhibition design fair in the 798 Art Festival 2013 in Beijing.
We are very excited about being selected for this amazing opportunity! The judge who chose our project loved it even though we were a last-minute submission after all the other projects had already been selected. After seeing what we were up to, he not only told us that we would have a place at the fair, but that he’d like two FRUITWALL for his own home!
New Gen is the largest and most important fair of its kind in Asia. Particularly significant, the Chinese government protects participating designers exhibiting new designs from national copycats. What more could we possibly ask for?
The fair will take place in Beijing from 28 September through 3 October. Carmina just got her new passport and is ready for the trip, promising to take lots of pictures to share. A great experience awaits!

Hola, queremos compartir con todos vosotros que han seleccionado nuestro diseño para la feria de diseño “New Gen”!!!!
Estamos súper felices, es algo muy importante para nosotros, pues al seleccionador de los proyectos le ha encantado y aunque un poco justo de tiempo, pues ya estaba todo seleccionado, nos ha dicho que quiere que estemos y que quiere uno para su casa!!!!
“New Gen” es la feria mas grande y la mas importante de toda Asia! Además como diseñadores que exponemos en ella un nuevo diseño, el gobierno chino nos protege ante las copias en su país. Que mas se puede pedir!!!!
La feria se hace en Beijing y es del 28 de septiembre al 3 de octubre, y Carmina ya esta preparando el pasaporte para ir, así que sacaras fotos y las mandaremos 😉 Que experiencia!!!!
